Outdoor Skydiving near Missoula Montana
Jump over the Headwaters!
A REAL 10,000ft Skydive from 14,000MSL!
FEEL THE FREEDOM®
Welcome to DZONE Skydiving, the premier skydiving destination located just a short drive from Missoula in Three Forks, Montana.
Other skydiving centers might make claims of a 10,000 foot skydive but they may not tell you is that the ground is already a 4,000 foot elevation, leaving only a 6,000 foot skydive! DZONE is the only skydiving center in Montana with IO-550 powered jump-planes that take skydivers to 14,000 MSL for a REAL 10,000 foot skydive!
So why don’t we always go to 24,000? Read about Hypoxia, oxygen requirements above 14,000MSL, and learn about skydiving jump altitudes, including MSL (Mean Sea Level) vs AGL (Above Ground Level), in our DZONE article, “How High do You Jump From?“
With the IO-550 182 our service ceiling is, in fact, 24,000 feet! So don’t be fooled if another operator claims to be the “only” center who can go to a particular altitude.
United Parachute Technologies, the maker of the most common tandem equipment, requires that tandem parachutes be completely open by 4,000 feet above the ground (Sigma Tandem Manual – Chapter 3, page 122). That mean when starting with an airport elevation of 4,000ft, we must then have a fully operating main at 8,000MSL which means activating that parachute at 9,000 MSL. As you can see, by taking all our jumpers to 14,000 MSL, we provide a wonderful 5,000 feet (almost one mile) of PURE FREEFALL FUN!!
Whether you’re a first-time jumper or an experienced skydiver, we offer unforgettable skydiving experiences with breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains, the Missouri River, and the stunning Montana wilderness. Come join us for the adventure of a lifetime!
We’re sure that you have more questions about what to expect—and DZONE® has the answers! If you’re ready for the ride of your life, don’t wait to get in touch and book an appointment.
